DESCRIPTION
Are you playing Russian Roulette every time you close that oven door? What are the variables that you can control that will enable consistent baking results? Students will help Chef Susan prepare and bake while learning and practicing fundamental techniques that will strengthen baking confidence.
Class objectives include:
• learning about basic baking equipment and tools,
• learning how to calibrate these tools, and
• practicing mise en place (a French culinary terms that translates to “everything in its place) which ensures that all ingredients are identified and measured accurately—all of which will enable students to achieve amazing results.
Students will bake, taste, and take packaged baked products home such as mini loaves and scones. Recipes included.
PLEASE NOTE: This class focuses on basic baking techniques. Cake baking techniques are covered in Cake by Numbers™ in the Cake Series.
