Cake bakers want stacked tiered cakes to survive delivery and maintain their integrity for the many hours they will be on display during an event. The coaching you receive from Chef Susan will give you confidence to continue your tiered cake-building journey.
The class project, inspired by the fashion of the Golden Age of Hollywood, will ensure that your cake confidence will exponentially increase. Edible fresh flowers (as available) and/or buttercream floral and piping skills will be used in the magnificent final presentation.
Upon successful completion of this class, along with the five required prerequisite courses, students will be awarded a Buttercream Certificate of Completion by the Baking and Cake Art Academy.
STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
- Students will review portioning cake layers ready to fill.
- How to fill the cake tiers that result in level cakes.
- How to achieve smooth icing and troubleshoot any issues that may arise with icing the cake.
- How to dowel cake tiers to support the stacked structure.
- How to decorate the three-tiered masterpiece using seasonal edible flowers and other theme appropriate embellishments.
- How to transport the stacked masterpiece and successfully deliver the celebration cake.
- How to store the stacked cake.
- How to serve the tiered cake.
